The Art Café

This wonderful new Art Café situated in the shopping centre in Paroikia officially opened on 10th March.

It is run by the same family as the Aris Restaurant (see Christmas issue) and if you have been to Aris you will already know that good decor, attention to detail and hospitality is a trade mark of the Gourogiannis family businesses (not just excellent food!)

The Art Café is an inspired idea - you can take your coffee and home made sweet, or perhaps just enjoy a quiet drink and a snack, surrounded by the latest exhibits (which change every 15-20 days). Feel free to walk around and look at the paintings - should one take your fancy it might even be for sale. Parian and foreign painters and photographers, both amateur and professional are welcome to exhibit - children’s painting exhibitions too.

Its well layed out facilities include comfortable seating, bar, a separate games/TV room which has facilities for backgammon and card games and a small stage area which gives the Art Café enormous potential as a venue for all sorts of entertainment. For example, specially themed evenings of jazz, rock and Greek music are already planned. If you have a different theme idea they would be pleased to hear about it and if you have children it is a good place to hold birthday parties.

At the moment the Art Café is open from 5.00pm until late every day but from Easter it should be open all day.

Take the opportunity to visit them and you will be sure of a warm welcome and if you have a good idea for a ‘theme’ night bring it along with you for consideration.
