Attica Zoological Park

If you have a few hours to kill between arriving in Athens and taking your flight or boat to/from Paros, grab a taxi from the airport and visit the fabulous new Attica Zoological Park near to the airport in Spata.

Opened in May, the park boasts the third largest bird collection in the world, with 2,000 birds of over 300 different species, a stunning reptile house with snakes, lizards and insects, plus wallabies, deer, lynxs and much more.

Visitors can learn about the different species and the need to preserve them and their natural habitat, and the playground and farm will keep kids happy for hours.

Open all year (March-September weekdays 9am-5pm, weekends 9am-7pm and October-February daily 9-5pm). Entrance fee for adults is 8E, Children 6.50E.
