Paronaxia Arts: “Three Artists at Porto Paros”

“Three Artists at Porto Paros”
Jan Mulder (painting), Kelly Athanasiadou (sculpture) & Apostolis Zolotakis (mixed media) Exhibition
Foyer & Lobby, Hotel Porto Paros, Kolymbithres, PAROS
22 June - end August, open daily

The exhibition presents work by three artists who share a connection with Paros. Jan Mulder creates large abstract works with acrylics; Apostolis Zolotakis blends concrete space (deriving from photography and geometric patterns) with abstract space using mixed media, and Kelly Athanasiadou sculpts her works with metal, giving them figurative lines and at times conceptual backgrounds.

Jan Mulder’s artistic presence at Holland Tunnel in Paroikia spans many years. Zolotakis has also been exhibiting there and at the Hotel Porto Paros since 2010; last year he and Mulder also held a joint exhibition at the Municipal Gallery. Kelly Athanasiadou exhibited in Paros in 2012 for the first time at the Apothiki Art Center.

Mulder was born in 1955 in Almelo, Holland. He studied at the Dutch Academy of Fine Arts. He has taken part in more than 30 solo and 60 group exhibitions throughout the world. Kelly Athanasiadou was born in Athens and studied political sciences in Thessaloniki, marketing in Bremen, and shoe design in Milan. After her studies she got involved with sculpting, in which she uses recyclable industrial material. She has held solo and group exhibitions in Greece
