Paulien Lethen, Susan Daboll, Jan Mulder, Bix Lye
Painting & Sculpture Exhibition
Holland Tunnel Gallery, Paroikia, PAROS
2 August - 6 September
Opening Hours: Every Friday 8-11pm, by appointment & by surprise!
After more than 10 years of exhibitions with classical themes and expanding groups of international and Greek artists, Holland Tunnel Gallery is ready for a new, more loose approach. Director and artist Paulien Lethen has invited fellow painters Susan Daboll and Jan Mulder and sculptor Bix Lye, who all have close ties with Holland Tunnel, to share the gallery with her all summer as their art space/stage. New Wave (Neo Kyma) is the title of the constantly changing art installation that has elements of surprise and improvisation. “We have no fixed agenda, but will be open by appointment and by surprise!,” say Paulien Lethen and her sister, jazz pianist and vocalist Heleen Schuttevaêr. “Opening days, impromptu art, jazz and other events will be announced on the website and by email, social media (Paros Life facebook) and Paros Community... or not at all! Keep an eye open for the gallery sign in the main street, at the corner of the Pirate Bar and Aghia Trada Church. When the sign is out, the gallery is open. This could also be in the morning, whereas in other years we were only open in the evening.”
If you follow the sign and turn into the narrow alley off the Agora, not only you will see modern art displayed in a classical 17th century house, you might also find the artists having dinner in the gallery or Heleen doing an informal jazz session with friends in the courtyard. Check the website and sign up for email notifications at firstname.lastname@example.org
Heleen will also be appearing at various Paros venues with live music between July and September as well as participating in the evening jam sessions and the final student concert of the Paros Jazz Academy in Logaras and Piso Livadi.
