Exhibition Hours: 10am-2pm & 6-10pm
Born in Athens, Takis Lamproukos graduated from Athens College and studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens. He completed postgraduate studies in England in comparative spatial organization particularly for traditional settlements and houses. His long years of experience in architectural design and construction of corresponding models, coupled with his love both for photography and video imaging, seem to have found their common component.
The human brain, during its usual daily function, processes and synthesizes a certain small number of parameters, depending on its cognitive abilities.
“Inspiration is the blessed, particular, short period – maybe a single moment – where the brain captures and processes a multiple number of parameters. I firmly believe that this moment creates art; a poem, a painting, a sculpture, music, an architectural composition, a photograph…,†he tells us.
“The photographs in this exhibition are the result of such creative moments, which the brain, through the eyes, identifies, frames, imprints, discovering the beauty in the usually aesthetically indifferent environment.
“The exhibition has been organized by Dimitra Guibert and had it not been for her persistent encouragement, these photographs would probably still remain in lethargy on the computer.â€
The relief photographs of this exhibition are made of special materials resistant to humidity and to UV light so that they can also be placed outdoors.
