Eight NOP athletes participated in sailing competitions held on Mykonos from 25 to 26 September with races taking place in the Optimist and Laser 4.7 categories. NOP athlete Venetia Theoxaridi took first place in the Optimist division, as well as in the girls’ overall rankings, while Yiorgos Dafereras came third in the overall rankings for boys. The rest of the NOP athletes also secured high places in the overall rankings.
The first sailing race for J24 boats that took place in Paroikia bay between 9-10 October was a success, both in terms of the organisation and the results.
Four races were held on Saturday and two more on Sunday, with four boats from Crete and one from Paros taking part. The team from Paros came fourth in the overall rankings. The Nautical Club were encouraged by the positive comments made about the two-day event and hope as a result to be able to organize additional sailing events in the future.

85 athletes from Paros, Athens and Crete showed up at the Environmental & Cultural Park at Ai-Yiannis Detis on Sunday 3 October to participate in the triathlon organised by the Park committee and the Paros Municipal Sports Association DONA. Participants between the ages of 11 and 65 competed in the 500m swim, 10km cycling and 3km run along the Park’s footpaths and against the dramatic background of the Aegean blue.
