Anait Karpova

Anait Karpova was born in Moscow on the 20th November 1975 in a family of musicians.

She went to school at the Gnessin Music School in Moscow (from 1982 till 1994). In 1999 she graduated with honours from the Moscow State Conservatory and in 2002 she graduated with honours from the Brussels Conservatory, specializing in solo piano work and chamber music. Anait also completed post-graduate studies at the Moscow State Conservatory. From 2003 till 2005 she worked for the International Certificate for Pianists, in collaboration with l’École Normale de Musique “Alfred Cortot” in Paris and the University of Florida.

Anait has performed in the main concert halls of Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other Russian cities. She has also given solo recitals in Belgium (Festival de Wallonie), Italy, USA and France and performed with various singers, for example with Elena Okolysheva (mezzo-soprano), and with Irina Samoilova (soprano), both soloists with the Bolshoi Theatre.

She held a concert at the Brussels Conservatory with Laura Claycomb, an internationally famous singer, and with various European orchestras (in Bratislava, Mérignac, Saint-Èmilion) and Russian symphony orchestras.

In 2002 she became a member of the Moscow Philharmonic Society as a soloist.
Anait has received numerous international music awards and we are very fortunate to have the chance to hear her play this month when she will give a concert which will include pieces by Scarlatti, Prokofiev, Debussy, and Shostakovich at the Archilochos Hall in Paroikia on the evening of Tuesday, April 3rd.
