Your Paros Garden

by Dimitra and George Arkoulis, April 1998
April is the most productive time to plant your annual flowers. This should result in an abundance of colour in June and July, providing that you follow the golden rule of watering regularly.

This is the time for successful planting of trees, conifers in particular. The transplanting of established trees and shrubs is not recommended until the winter months.

Take care to choose good quality garden plants and never be afraid to ask for friendly advice from your local garden centre (see our advertisement below).

Editor’s Note: If you have a gardening question or would like to share your existing knowledge and experience about gardening in Paros, please send us details. We know that many of you have learned a great deal about growing and harvesting various vegetables and fruits. What kind of problems have you experienced and how did you overcome them? Are there any vegetables you can’t find in the shops here but have managed to successfully grow?
