Athenian Summer School Visits Logaras

During the month of July the International Center for Hellenic and Mediterranean Studies DIKEMES (Diethnes Kentro Ellinikon kai Mesogeiakon Spoudon), holds a three-week intensive Modern Greek language programme on the island of Paros. The courses, from beginning to advanced levels, consist of 60 hours of instruction and are taught by the authors of the well-known textbook series ‘Greek Now’.

Classes are held at the charming Free Sun Hotel in Logaras. Participants take classes in the morning from 9.00 to 12.00 and again from 5.45 to 7.00. There is a full range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in the evenings. Whether dining out in Marpissa, climbing the rocks at Kolymbithres, walking the Byzantine Road at Lefkes, visiting the Panayia Ekatontapiliani, enjoying a ‘literary moment’, learning Greek dancing, joining in a sing-along on the beach etc etc.

Participants not only learn Modern Greek but also experience the joys of the Greek way of life.

The Center is a non-profit based organisation based in Athens offering a range of cultural activities DIKEMES is centrally located next to the Marble Stadium opposite the National Gardens and Presidential Palace. Its facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, computer room with Internet, library and an auditorium. The Center’s activities include public lectures and continuing education for the English-speaking community.
