Every year the “Dasarchio” (Greek government forestry department) give away about twenty different kinds of trees including eucalyptus, cyprus, tamarisk, oleander (pikrodafni), myoporo, acacia, aligaria, pine and palm trees (but not fruit or olive trees), completely free of charge in order to encourage reforestation on the islands.
